Her determination to learn and succeed has remained a source of hope and strength for me through all of life’s challenges.  Over the years, I have faced many hardships — including domestic abuse, homelessness, and painful separation from my children. With God’s grace, I have slowly rebuilt my life, secured permanent housing, and found stability. However, I am unable to afford the full cost of Alishia’s college tuition and expenses on my limited income.

This comprehensive program offers trainees daily hands-on experience under the guidance of a professional chef, enhancing not just their culinary techniques but also their communication skills, understanding of the restaurant industry, and personal finance management. Participants also receive dedicated one-on-one job coaching, complete an externship in a local restaurant or food business, and work at Root events to gain invaluable real-world experience.
