Fortress After School is one of our longest-running programs, getting its start as Fortress Literacy Center in 2005. Since its inaugural year serving 12 students, we now serve nearly 70 students in PreK3-5th grade. Our students come from Van Zandt-Guinn Elementary, conveniently located just a few blocks from Fortress.

West Park Cultural Center

WPCC has consistently offered this summer arts and nature program since 2002. This program, commencing right after the July 4 holiday, provides meaningful experiences that children have cherished for years. In addition to artmaking, there will be field trips, swimming, and other recreational activities.

Send Participant to Camp Ginkgo for One Day

The program is for ages 9-13 and focuses on poetry with a different theme each week. A look at everyday life will find the hidden poetry in and around the beautiful Shofuso Japanese House and Garden. Participants will create a portfolio of photo and poetry work.

The program combines the art of dance and computer coding leading to the development of original choreography and performance. Girls learn the value of focus, dedication, and teamwork, as well as career-building industry-standard computer programming skills. danceLogic runs from October thru the second Saturday in June when they perform at the annual West Park Arts Fest.

Our after school guitar lessons ar a great way for students to learn a new instrument, build confidence, improve hand-eye coordination, and sharpen their focus. This donation will help us reach kids who are interested in the guitar but are unable to buy one.
